Joy Bell Preschool is a private academic school licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, complying with the standards set forth by that  Department.  Our teachers are certified with this Department in areas to include Early Childhood, Nursery/Kindergarten, Elementary Education, Special Education, Music Education and Physical Education.  Additionally, Joy Bell's Kindergarten Enrichment program is certified with the Department of Public Welfare.

Our staff of caring and compassionate teachers and teacher assistants will encourage your child's development at his/her own pace.  A developmental approach in a guided setting is used to prepare your child for kindergarten or to enrich your child's kindergarten experience.

In order for a child's registration to be accepted for enrollment into any of Joy Bell's particular preschool or enrichment programs offered, the child must reach the minimum required age for enrollment into that program by September 1st of the year for which he/she is being registered. In the event that your child does not meet this age requirement, we look forward to registering your child for a program the following year. Please call Joy Bell with any questions you may have regarding age requirements.

THREE'S PROGRAM                                                                                                      2-Day AM or PM/TTH, 3-Day AM/MWF or TWTH, 3-Day PM/MWF or TWTH

Successful transitioning from home to school, socialization and participation in a small group are hallmarks of this Joy Bell Preschool program for three-year-olds which focuses on developing self-confidence through active and creative learning.  The curriculum introduces colors, shapes, and numbers.  Songs, fingerplays, and stories are used to expand expressive language.

A lunch-time enrichment program is offered several times throughout the school year in order to extend the day of our three-year-olds.  This program provides additional time for children who attend a morning class to remain at school an extra hour or for those children who attend an afternoon class to come an hour earlier to enjoy a lunch brought from home, further play/socialize with classmates and storytime.

3-Day AM or PM/TWTH, 4-Day AM/M-TH or T-F, 5-Day AM/M-F

This program focuses on kindergarten readiness skills: counting, classifying, name recognition, and beginning identification of the sight and sound(s) of each letter of the alphabet. Pre-K students will further develop their fine motor skills through hands on activities such as: manipulating small materials and items, cutting and printing their own names in preparation for kindergarten.

PRE-K ENRICHMENT PROGRAM                                                                   3-Day PM/TWTH, 4-Day PM/M-TH or T-F, 5-Day PM/M-F

This afternoon program expands ideas that were presented in the morning class. In addition to lunch and socializing, this class provides many opportunities for dramatic play and creativity that will further enhance your child's approach to learning while attending an extended-day program.

This enrichment program, offered once or twice a week on a monthly basis throughout the school year, extends the day of Joy Bell Preschool's  morning Pre-K students until 3:15 p.m.  In addition to enjoying a lunch brought from home and socializing with friends, this program introduces monthly themes that are explored and expanded through arts and crafts projects, stories, snacks and outdoor play (weather permitting).

3-Day PM/TWTH, 4-Day PM/M-TH  or T-F , 5-Day PM/M-F

This afternoon program is designed to enrich the day of a child who attends a morning Kindergarten program at another location. Program hours are from 11:45 until 3:15. The program reinforces fine motor skills and pre-reading skills through weekly themes (insects, dinosaurs, transportation, etc.), games, and many fun-filled hands-on activities to include arts and crafts.

Transportation is provided by Council Rock School District to Joy Bell for children who attend morning Kindergarten at Hillcrest, Holland or Rolling Hills Elementary Schools.

This program provides extended afternoon care for students who attend any of Joy Bell's  Pre-Kindergarten Enrichment or Kindergarten Enrichment programs. This program begins at dismissal time (3:15 PM) with pick-up from this extended child care occurring in half-hour increments until as late as 6:00 PM. During this program the children interact and further socialize through involvement in games, arts and crafts, snack, outdoor nature walks and playground activities (weather permittng).

Joy Bell provides a weekly, half-hour long physical education class for all students who attend Joy Bell Preschool, to include Kindergarten Enrichment students.  This developmentally appropriate program, taught by an on-staff, certified physical educator, is designed to introduce the children to gross motor skills and motor movement with the goals of developing the physical, social, behavioral and emotional well-being of each child in a non-competitive, fun-filled learning environment.

The Physical Education Program incorporates music and utilizes a variety of gym equipment in order to achieve the intended developmental goals of the program, while providing all students with unlimited movement experiences and various ways to nurture their beginning love of exercise.

A developmentally appropriate music class, presented by Singalong Pete, a local musician, is provided once a month for students attending Joy Bell.  Each music lesson focuses on building an appreciation and love of music, while incorporating monthly theme-related and special holiday songs, rhythmical movement and a variety of instruments in the process.

Through this program, Singalong Pete hopes to motivate and inspire the children in a fun-filled way to become increasingly involved in the music medium with each subsequent monthly lesson.
